Model I: Master server with execution nodes

The general steps to setting up this model are to:

  1. Install the CLC Science Server software on all the machines involved. (See Installation.)
  2. Start up the CLC Science Server software on all the machines involved. (See Starting and Stopping the Server.)
  3. Install the license on the machine that will act as the master node. (See Downloading a License.)
  4. Log in to the web adminstrative interface for the CLC Science Server of the machine that will act as the master node. (See Installation.)
  5. Configure the Master node and the job nodes via the administrative interface on the Master node.

The only work you have to do directly on the machines that will run as job nodes is to install the CLC Science Server and start the software up on each of them. Almost all other configurations are done via the web adminstrative interface for the CLC Science Server of the master node. This includes the installation of plugins. See section Installing Server plugins.
